But He Was My Friend

It’s not fair that Fred Rogers dies and [insert evil American politician’s name] is still able to draw a breath.

My brother and I used to get high and watch that show. Like if you were totally paranoid and hearing imaginary police sirens and shit you would watch that show and calm waaaay down. It lowered the blood pressure - like petting kittens. Plus even if you were really, really high, you could still follow the plot of each episode.

It is a sad day in the neighborhood. I had the pleasure of meeting him - what a gentle soul.

Neil, buddy, Fred Rogers was a childrens show entertainer other wise known as Mr. Rogers. He taught kids how to be friends with others and was an all around good guy. He came on right after Sesame Street.

Or perhaps now he will be remembered as the soft-spoken guy who kept lots of teens suffering from drug-induced paranoia calm as they heard imaginary police sirens and consumed mass quantities of Frito’s Corn Chips and Hostess Snack Cakes. Either way he was a friend of children—kind of like Michael Jackson without all of the sleepovers and controversy.
